Unakite as a custom pendant

Unakite puts two very different colors side by side: green and salmon pink. Instead of a regular band, the minerals form a mottled, granular picture. Some pieces lean greener, while others give the pink more space. That uneven distribution makes selecting a section of rough part of the design itself.

A polished unakite cabochon can recall a garden, a patchwork, or an abstract landscape. The stone’s pattern provides the detail, so the pendant does not need a complicated outline. A broad cushion allows several patches of color to appear together, while a narrow shape can isolate a simpler arrangement.

Where is unakite found?

Unakite is an altered granitic rock containing green epidote, pink feldspar, and quartz. It is named for the Unaka Mountains in the eastern United States. Other documented sources include Virginia and countries such as South Africa and Brazil. It is a rock made of several minerals, not a single green-and-pink crystal species.

These are known occurrences of the material type. The origin of the studio’s current material is not verified unless stated for that specific piece.

Unakite: meaning & metaphysical associations

Contemporary crystal traditions often connect unakite with balance, patience, and gradual growth. Its pairing of contrasting colors offers a visual way to think about those ideas. A wearer may choose the stone as a reminder to allow time for a process, while recognizing that the meaning is personal rather than a physical effect.

A patterned necklace with garden colors

Unakite can make a thoughtful gift for someone who prefers nature-inspired palettes to bright, uniform gems. Consider a custom pendant for a gardener, an artist, or a friend who enjoys unusual color combinations. A shape chosen specifically for them gives this familiar cabochon material a more personal direction.

Designing your unakite piece

Use the notes to ask for a greener or pinker balance if that matters to you. The maker can assess what the rough allows and orient the cut around its pattern. An oval softens the mottling, while a geometric silhouette gives the same colors a firmer frame.

You choose the stone type, shape, and size. Choose a loose cabochon, a pendant with a bail for your own chain, or a complete pendant and chain. Custom drawings are reviewed for feasibility before cutting, and your notes stay with your design.
